The event depicts frontier-life in the 1800’s. The setting is Heritage Park (Exit 25, Caldwell, Noble County Fairgrounds) & features a one-room school house, church, log cabin and covered bridge. Townspeople and crafters dress in period costumes and there are numerous displays: Demonstrations of blacksmithing, apple press, butter churn, spinning, weaving, hat making, shoe making, wagon encampment, quilting, broom making and sheep herding are possible and vary year to year.
Homemade ice-cream, roasted chicken, sausage, and lemonade are usual fare but include many more, often cooked over open fires just like our ancestors did. Held in late September.
